Homeless Empowerment Program

Each month, CTK partners with The Homeless Empowerment Program, a full-service organization that provides homeless and very low-income individuals and families with housing, food, clothing and support services necessary to obtain self-sufficiency and improved quality of life. Volunteers from CTK travel to Clearwater to work in a thrift store, and prepare and serve lunch. New opportunities are available to plug in and serve on a weekly or monthly basis. See below for details.

Two ways to serve at HEP:

1.Thrift Store

The Thrift Store gives CTK volunteers an opportunity for our members to help the homeless by sorting and tagging clothing and preparing them for sale. All proceeds go to the Homeless Empowerment Program in Clearwater. Thrift store helpers serve the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of each month. Volunteers arrive at HEP around 10a and stay till 12p. Call Church office 727-595-2117 or Pat DeSantis 727-392-1838.

2. Lunch Preparation

Join this team of volunteers to prepare lunch on the 3rd Saturday of each month. Volunteers arrive at 930a work in the kitchen until about 1230p to prepare a meal and serve lunch. Call Church office 727-595-2117 or Pat DeSantis 727-392-1838.
